Hot Ink Rollers manufactured by ITW Foils have been developed to perform on all popular
Hot Ink over–printing machines and are produced in a comprehensive range of grades , colours and sizes to suit the vast majority of applications.
Selection of the most suitable product is determined by comparing the required outside diameter , length and colour with the PRODUCT AVAILABILITY CHART and ROLLER DIMENSIONS GRAPHIC . The ink series temperature range should match as closely as possible the machines actual operating conditions to ensure optimum print quality and life.
The Ink series themselves are designated as follows :
Our standard , low temperature formulation offering superior scratch resistance on most packaging films. Contact with secondary heat sources should be avoided due to the low working temperature.
30 Series 150º - 190ºC
Best abrasion and smear resistance operating at the highest of temperatures. Only available in black and white.
32 Series 150º - 175ºC
High temperature grade producing clean, well defined prints with excellent scratch and smudge resistance.
35 and 37 Series 135º - 165ºC
Operating in the mid temperature range , this is our general purpose quality affording good scratch and smudge resistance on virtually all packaging films. The 37 series is an enhanced version available in black only.
XL Series 135º - 145ºC
The XL series has been formulated to provide a dense black image on many types of substrates. Coupled with a high degree of scratch and abrasion resistance , this is an ideal choice for printers operating in this narrow temperature range.
33 Series 150º - 175ºC
Similar to our 32 series, this black ink formulation has been enhanced to offer improved print life.
All sizes are packed 25 rollers per tray except E - 08 and M - 05 references which are packed 50 per tray, with 6, 8 OR 10 trays per carton.
Special colours and other Non - Standard rollers may be subject to minimum order quantities.
N.B. Many Hot Ink printers have the facility for small adjustments to be made to the amount of pressure applied by the die - face to the roller. This adjustment should be used to overcome any problems caused by the modest variation in outside diameter of individual ink formulations. This is an important setting as it controls the quantity of ink removed by each print from the roller. Too much ink removal results in reduced print life whilst too little produces poor or even incomplete impressions.
